We’re mesmerised by these striking images taken at sunset from the seventh floor of CIAC. Kirstie Handley – who is documenting the construction of CIAC – has captured some beautiful shots of some of Middlesbrough’s iconic structures. Kirstie Handley – A female gaze on the world of construction

Kirstie Handley who is a creative and professional photographer from Middlesbrough has been selected to take a photographic record of the construction underway at Middlehaven. We first met Kirstie when she was employed to record the construction of Temenos, the giant art installation by Anish Kapoor, and spotted her talent quickly. We think she will go far. ‘CIAC’ or community in a cube, has real presence and we wanted to capture the construction of this wonderful new building, the people, the processes and the details, and who best to do it?

CIAC is experiencing a daily growth. The passion and dedication we put in Riverside One is unprecedented and will be by no means daunted by the Government Spending Cuts. CIAC is more than a comfortable place to live, it is a life style - a sustainable community in a cube.
