RiversideOne provides stunning views of Temenos

22/06/2010 RiversideOne provides stunning views of Temenos

Homebuyers thinking of purchasing a property at RiversideOne now have an even greater reason to own an apartment there – unrestricted access to superb views of one of the world’s most impressive art installations.

A significant number of the 80 apartments now available in the eight storey CIAC (Community in a Cube) building will provide elevated panoramic views of Temenos, the first installation in the Tees Valley Giants public art initiative, which is an awe-inspiring 110m in length and almost 50m high.

Tees Valley Giants will be a series of five world-class art installations by internationally acclaimed sculptor Anish Kapoor and leading structural designer Cecil Balmond. The artist and engineer are known for the huge scale of their work and are two of the most sought after names in the art world. Their works can be seen in prominent locations around the globe including New York, Chicago and Beijing.

Pete Halsall, managing director of BioRegional Quintain, said: “Temenos is an outstanding example of public art that will draw further international attention to Middlesbrough and RiversideOne helping to make this a nationally significant and sustainable waterside location. Like RiversideOne, Temenos is a world class project that will enhance perceptions of the town and surrounding areas.

“Those who decide to buy apartments in our first waterside apartment property, which is called CIAC (Community in a Cube), will experience fantastic views of the sculpture. We hope that purchasers will benefit from enhanced property values as this becomes established as an internationally significant icon of our age. We are delighted to support Temenos and, along with our public sector partners, look forward to it bringing further investment into the area.”

Temenos is funded by government initiative The Northern Way, Regional Development Agency One NorthEast, the Arts Council England, the Northern Rock Foundation, Middlesbrough Football Club and BioRegional Quintain. Sculptures will also be installed at Stockton, Hartlepool, Darlington and Redcar and Cleveland adding up to the biggest public art project anywhere in the world.
