Show apartment launched

08/07/2010 Show apartment launched

Homebuyers wanting to be one of the first to own a new property in what is rapidly becoming a vibrant new district of Middlesbrough in which to live, work and relax can now view a stunning show apartment at RiversideOne, the £200m development transforming the former Middlehaven docks site.

Developer BioRegional Quintain is well underway with work on the first apartment building at RiversideOne. Called CIAC (Community in a Cube), the building will be eight storeys high and comprise 80 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments priced from £79,995.

The show apartment – which is located within the marketing suite at RiversideOne – superbly demonstrates both the excellent level of specification available and quality of building materials used whilst simultaneously highlighting the thoughtfulness of the development’s sustainable living concept.

Pete Halsall, BioRegional Quintain’s managing director, said: “The show apartment gives visitors a distinct understanding of the properties that we are currently building with CIAC. We are creating homes which we believe will redefine what people understand by the term apartment.

“By using every inch of space available to us, including increasing the standard height of the ceilings, we are able to create fundamentally different living spaces. We know the type of homeowner that wants to live at RiversideOne expects to live in a private property unlike any other.

“Not only will CIAC provide Middlesbrough’s finest waterside living location, but the apartments are also designed to deliver homes that set the highest standards in design, functionality and sustainability.”

BioRegional Quintain has a proven track record in creating outstanding sustainable homes with its One Brighton development, which is located in the seaside town of the same name, recently winning the Royal Town Planning Institute’s Sustainable Communities Award. Many of the same design and sustainability features present at One Brighton will also be utilised at RiversideOne including energy efficient light fittings, water efficient taps, fittings and appliances and high thermal performing windows.

Pete continued: “The show apartment features a fully-fitted contemporary kitchen which, in line with our sustainable principles, has integrated energy efficient appliances. It also has a living and dining area, bedroom and bathroom all decorated in a fresh, contemporary style to give visitors a genuine feel for the homes that are available to them at CIAC and the wider lifestyle that RiversideOne will provide.

“Anyone interested in living at RiversideOne should come down to the marketing suite and view the show apartment so they can see for themselves what they can own and find out more about the transformation taking place at Middlehaven.”

Designed by award-winning architect Fashion Architecture Taste, CIAC is the first of five proposed residential cubes being constructed at RiversideOne which is currently the largest planned zero carbon development in the UK. Once complete it will comprise of 750 homes in 15 buildings.

CIAC is made up of an area of open space at ground level containing a chalet building and a central south-facing courtyard which, above ground, splits the cube into two wings. The building’s design also incorporates a local pub which sits at its base overlooking the dock basin. It is anticipated people will be able to move in to CIAC during the summer of 2011.

CIAC’s location also provides the majority of those apartments facing the dock with clear views of Temenos, the first installation of sculptor Anish Kapoor’s Tees Valley Giants, which is an awe-inspiring 110m in length and almost 50m high. Many of those who purchase apartments on the top two floors will also benefit from stunning views of the hills surrounding Middlesbrough.

The development is situated close to Middlesbrough Football Club, off Windward Way, and provides fast access to the A66 and A19. To find out more about RiversideOne and the properties available register your interest now or call the RiversideOne sales team on 0808 1722 430.
